MK Ultra | Officially started in 1953, Project MK Ultra was an undercover project led by the CIA. The purpose was to identify and develop drugs that could be used in interrogation and torture situations, with one of the most prominent drugs used being LSD. Human test subjects were used in this experiment and were given doses of the drug without their knowledge in order to test the "true" effects. The main focus of the government in these tests however was a little bit more pseudoscientific; the ability to cause mind-control. Project MK Ultra was in place for more 20 years before being officially halted. All files regarding the project were erased from existence by the CIA as well, leaving us with nothing.
